Durring the post race, he said the Brian hadn't been in a race car in "almost a year".  The truth is, he has only missed 3 races this year. (not counting the shootout).  If there was ever a King if exaggeration, DW would have two crowns!!

They only gave him 18 points for his fourth place finish, and not the 41 he should have had with leading a lap. The penalty the...  moreUmmm K.  Nascar seems to look at the season as one long race, and not 36 individual races. Case in point, is Jimmy Johnson. They only gave him 18 points for his fourth place finish, and not the 41 he should have had with leading a lap. The penalty they inflicted on the team (from Daytona) should have been reflected in the Points Standings (overall), and not the following  Race Results.  It just comes down to how you are willing to handle your accounting practices. The 48 team earned a 4th place finish, and the points should have reflected that. They should handle their over all standings separately, and find a better way to reflect penalties that are passed out for various infractions, without allowing them to bleed into the individual races.   FOR the purpose of this group, I will correct all of those kinds of errors, so that the points you receive, reflect the finishing position of the driver you have chosen. It might take a little longer to post to the group, but its the right way to go, and fair ...    less

They should be handled as two separate entities. Everyone starts the race with zero points, and, while some points are earned during the race, the points for position are awarded at the end of the race. While the Championship points showed a negative balance going into the race, the race its self was a clean slate. The race results should reflect the actual progress of each team, and than be added into the Seasonal standings, where they will accurately reflect the teams combined efforts, and any penalties they may have incurred along the way. No team should start the race with any points, as no action has taken place on that track to justify any points having been awarded.  less

Chose three drivers that you believe will have the best finish for that race weekend. Post your picks to the groups discussion, and you will earn the points that those drivers do. All the discussions have already been created, so you can make your selections at Any time. Race day, a few days before, a couple of weeks before, or a few months in advance. Its totally up to you. You can edit and make changes whenever you like. Each discussion will be closed, at the wave of the green flag. I have created a new graph to track everyone's drivers, points, and finishing positions. Anyone who wants a copy of that for themselves, is welcome to it. Just send me a PM, and I'll send my email. All points are awarded when the Official race results are released. There are no limits to the number of times you can pick any particular driver.  less

(or a...  moreIt pains me a little bit, knowing that RedBull is willing to pay to have someone free fall from 23 miles up, and couldnt manage to get a team to travel 1.5 miles repeatedly. Aside from that, I'm stll looking forward to watching stock car racing. (or atleast todays version of it)  It will be strange not having a driver to cheer on, but you'll have to cut my power off, to get me to stop watching.  The only thing that gives me that empty feeling, is the lack of information avalible. I'm sure there are reasons for that, but I can only speculate. This is going to be a long year, and while it is not starting out the way we had hoped it would, there is no telling how it might end. Until I hear otherwise, I remain to be hopeful, and optimistic.  less
